An exciting opportunity has arisen at Peterson Solutions at Colombo, Sri Lanka for PROJECT MANAGEMENT EXECUTIVE – SUSTAINABLE FINANCE.

We are seeking a proactive and analytical Project Management Executive – Sustainable Finance to support the delivery of sustainable finance, ESG, climate finance, and green economy projects. 

 The successful candidate will assist in coordinating advisory engagements, conducting financial and sustainability analyses, developing technical reports and training materials, and supporting capacity-building initiatives for financial institutions, corporates, government agencies, and development partners.  

This role offers the opportunity to work on diverse projects related to ESG integration, sustainable finance frameworks, climate risk, green lending, sustainability reporting, and emerging regulatory requirements while collaborating with multidisciplinary teams and key stakeholders across the region.

Tasks and responsibilities

  • Support the design and delivery of sustainable finance advisory engagements, including green/social/sustainability bond structuring support, ESG risk frameworks, and climate-related financial disclosure (e.g. alignment with the Sri Lanka Green Finance Taxonomy and CBSL Sustainable Finance Roadmap). 
  • Contribute technical and financial content to competitive proposals and tenders for donor-funded programmes with a sustainable finance or climate finance component. 
  • Develop training materials and deliver capacity-building sessions for financial institutions, corporates, and government counterparts on ESG integration, green lending criteria, and climate risk assessment. 
  • Prepare financial and economic analyses (cost-benefit, financial modelling, impact quantification) to support certification, capacity-building, and business development deliverables. 
  • Liaise with regulators, financial institutions, and development partners (e.g. Central Bank of Sri Lanka, Colombo Stock Exchange, SEC) on sustainable finance policy and market developments relevant to client work. 
  • Draft high-quality technical reports, concept notes, training manuals, and client-facing decks to Peterson documentation standards. 
  • Support due diligence and ESG risk screening clients seeking certification with a financing or investment dimension. 
  • Contribute to internal knowledge-building on emerging sustainable finance regulation (EU Taxonomy, EUDR financing implications, CSRD) relevant to Peterson’s regional client base. 

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in finance, Economics, Business Administration, Environmental Science, or a related field; a master’s degree or relevant professional certification is an advantage. 
  • 2-3 years of relevant experience in sustainable finance, ESG advisory, climate finance, impact investing, or a closely related consulting field. 
  • Working knowledge of ESG frameworks and standards (TCFD, GRI, SASB, EU Taxonomy) and familiarity with green/sustainability bond frameworks. 
  • Strong financial analysis and modelling skills, with proficiency in Excel; exposure to data tools is a plus. 
  • Excellent written English for high-quality report, proposal, and training material production; Sinhala or Tamil proficiency is an advantage for local stakeholder engagement.
