Carbon footprint software to collect, calculate and report your emissions
Stop spending months on your carbon footprint. Carbon Track is carbon accounting software that collects your site and supplier data, calculates emissions in line with the GHG Protocol and reports them with a full audit trail.
Carbon numbers you can explain
Carbon Track is Peterson’s carbon footprint and carbon accounting software, part of Solutions Hub. It helps companies track emissions data from their sites and suppliers, calculate their greenhouse gas (GHG) emissions with a standard method and report them to stakeholders, certification schemes and regulators. It is built by carbon experts, not just software engineers.
- Scope 1, 2 and selected Scope 3 categories, calculated with one consistent method across sites, countries and years, in line with the GHG Protocol
- Every result explained: a full calculation trail shows how each figure was reached, from activity data and emission factor to the final result
- Validated, not just entered: data goes from draft to submitted to validated, and every change is recorded (who changed what, and when)
Your carbon data shouldn’t live in spreadsheets
Customers, regulations and certification schemes such as GOTS now ask for emissions data. Most companies still build it by hand, once a year.
Carbon Track gives your carbon data a structure, so reporting becomes a repeatable process, not a yearly scramble.
- Spreadsheets everywhere. Fuel, electricity and transport data arrive by email in different files, units and formats, and someone has to stitch them together every reporting cycle.
- Numbers nobody can explain. When every consultant or site uses its own formulas, results change from year to year and nobody can show how a figure was calculated.
- Requests keep growing. CSRD, the GHG Protocol and certification schemes are raising the bar. A figure without a trail behind it doesn’t hold up in a review.
How Carbon Track calculates your carbon footprint
Step 1
Set up your structure
Define your sites, business units and suppliers, the periods you report on and the activities to track.

Step 2
Collect activity data
Sites and suppliers enter their data (fuel, electricity, transport and more) through structured forms. Our consultants can prefill or correct fields from your documents.

Step 3
Calculate
Emissions are calculated as activity data × emission factor, with factors chosen by activity type, geography and period, and versioned over time. Units are converted automatically.

Step 4
Validate
Each entry moves from draft to submitted to validated, or goes back with comments. Every change is recorded for your audit trail.

Step 5
Report
See results by scope, site, supplier and period, compare years, and export your reports to Excel or PDF.

A tool without expertise is just a faster way to be wrong
Carbon Track was built by GHG experts, developers and data analysts working together. And it comes with the people who know what the numbers should look like.

Carbon Track at work
60% less time on carbon reporting
A multinational with fragmented data needed a more efficient way to report its Scope 1, 2 and 3 emissions. Reporting time fell by 60%, and the better visibility helped the company cut its emissions by 15% within a year.
Emissions tracking for GOTS certification
GOTS now requires companies to report greenhouse gas emissions, leaving them asking where to begin and what format to use. Scope 1, 2 and 3 tracking for GOTS was simplified with Carbon Track.
Preparing a global group for CSRD
A group with operations in 80+ countries centralised its carbon data in Carbon Track, aligned its calculations with the GHG Protocol and ISO 14064, and adopted ESRS voluntarily for its 2024 reporting.
